Encourage People To Sign Up

This is where most people start to go wrong. They set up an affiliate program, stick up a link that says click here to sign up and leave it at that. You need to sell your affiliate program. After all there is an incredible amount of competition out there.

Have a mini sales letter that explains the benefits to people signing up. Tell them their commissions and how they can earn an income without having to worry about creating a product or having a website but from promoting your products instead.

Provide Affiliates With Marketing Materials

Heres another big one. Site owners get people to sign up their affiliate program and then just leave them to it. Its like theyre saying thanks for signing up, now go and make me some cash. Thats ridiculous. To start earning the big bucks, you need to do all the hard work for your affiliates. If you dont, somebody else will.

Provide your affiliate with email promotions, articles, press releases, pay per click ads, banner adverts and whatever else you can create that will enable people to promote your site to the masses with as little work as possible.

Heres the thing. You could write an article and submit it to article directories all over the Internet and do very well for yourself. However if you just had one hundred affiliates blasting that article all over the net youve just multiplied your marketing power by one hundred. This is the key to making massive mounts online.

If you cant write articles etc yourself hire someone to do so from but do provide your affiliates with marketing materials or your just setting yourself up for having a very mediocre Internet business

Have an affiliate Only Newsletter

Heres a real cracker. Have an email list of only your affiliates. Each week send out a mini blueprint on how they can market your products and earn a commission. Inform them of new products youve just launched or new marketing materials youve just added to your affiliates area.

Another great method you can use with this is to have a weekly completion. Each week your affiliate who earns the most gets an extra one hundred dollars or whatever you can afford. Mention the winner in each weeks newsletter and say things like who thinks they can overtake Joe Bloggs as being my top affiliate? Come on guys I know Ive got some great marketers signed up as my affiliates prove it and Ill mention you in next weeks newsletter.

This is great. Psychologically you are motivating your affiliates to promote your products like crazy to get recognition as being your top gun. Often ego trips are just as motivating as money.

1. Categorize Information and Create a Master Outline

Look at your business and decide how you want to categorize your information. For example I have: Administration, Marketing, Finances, etc. as my Master Outline and than under those larger categories, I create subcategories: My sample

Create tabs for the Master Outline and use on hanging folders, use manila folders with labels for your subcategories. Make sure that you give all files a name, do not use Miscellaneous as a file name, because the file will began to accumulate papers and you will not be able to find items easily and quickly. You can use this same format to keep electronic files as well.

2. Create a Tickler File System

Get twelve manila folders and label them January December, then you will need 31 more vanilla folders labeled 1 31 for the days in the month and two additional folders labeled for the upcoming years. As I am writing this it is 2006, so you would create a 2007 folder and a 2008 folder.

Which ever month that you are currently in, include the days of the month folders (1-31). Whenever you have a planned task, appointment, project deadline just put the information in the folder that you need to get it done. For example, If I need to complete and submit an article to a publication that my target audience reads on December 15, 2006, than I would put the contact information and due date and a checklist in the folder for December 15, 2006. On Dec. 15, everything that needs to be done is in my tickler file. Review you tickler file daily.

What if I am planning to attend a conference in May 17, 2008, than I would put all the necessary information in the 2008 file and file those items according once I get to that month and year. Tickler files should also be in sync to your daily planner.

3. Purge Your Filing System

Do not let files contain more 25 30 pieces of paper. It is best to block time on your schedule once every three months to go through your files to see if there is any information that can de discarded or scanned and saved electronically. Check with your accountant and banker to see how long documentation should be retained. Also check out it contains a checklist of how long you should keep financial documents. You must keep your filing system neat and easy to obtain the information you want when you want it. It is best to keep the most used files near you in your desk drawer.

There are three simple steps to transformational writing: 1) writing for a specific audience, 2) using the right venue, and 3) choosing and executing the right type of transformation (there are three).

1. Specific Audience

If you want to reach your audience, its absolutely crucial that you understand them, get out of your own perspective, and write to their perspective. One of the first things I do with every piece I write is identify my target audience, things such as age, gender, race/ethnicity, location, income level, purchasing habits, hobbies, talents, interests, etc.

When I know who Im talking to, Im prepared to custom tailor the message to resonate with them specifically. For example, words such as revolutionary, cutting-edge, fresh, or in vogue will more likely resonate with an 18-25 age group, whereas a 60-70 age group will probably have negative reactions to them, who prefer things that are proven, safe, and sensible.

2. The Right Venue

By venue I mean the medium used to convey your message, including such things as magazines, newspapers, journals, books, radio and TV ads, blogs, websites, etc. The venue you choose is, in large part, determined by your audience.

For example, if Im writing a lengthy article on monetary policy intended for scholars and economists, the best venue is probably a scholarly journal. Few people can stand to read long blocks of meaningful text on a computer screen, I probably wont have enough space to make my case in most magazines, etc. On the other hand, if my content is concise, simple, and intended for a broad audience, perhaps a newspaper article makes sense.

All of us are exposed to written communications that we skim or ignore, yet if that same message is presented in a venue more palatable to us, were much more likely to spend time reading it. Writing for transformation requires utilizing the best venue for our subject matter and audience.

3. The Right Transformation

There are three types of transformations: know, feel, and do. A know transformation seeks to give the readers new information, or old information arranged in a different way, to help them to learn and know things they didnt know before, in such a way that changes their life and perspective. A feel transformation obviously seeks to evoke strong emotion in the audience, while a do is designed to get an audience to take very specific, immediate, and tangible action.

Amateurs look at this list and try to do all three; professionals focus on one and nail it, because doing so affects the others. How do you want peoples lives to change because they read your message? What do you want to see occur in them? Do you primarily want them to know, feel, or do something? Pick oneyes, just oneand execute it well, and the others will take care of themselves.

If you want your message to actually have impact, you must learn to write for transformation. Know who youre writing to, use the right venue to reach them, and choose the right transformation and execute it well. After all, transformational writing is the only writing worth reading.

Here are few tips that could help any affiliate business to fight back those "hijackers" and prevent them to ever "chop" your affiliate link. Those are great tips, but if someone really tries to steal your commission, it might succeed, finally.

TIP #1
You can use a java script redirect page in order to hide the affiliate link. Here is where your affiliate link can be found and the customers can have access to your products. This is a great way to avoid a maximum exposure of your affiliate link in emails or ezine ads, until the customer is redirected to the true affiliate link, where your ID is also viewable.

Here is an example of how cans this be done: . com/productA.html , and the ID can be seen in the address bar "productdomain". Even if the hijackers can finally access your affiliate link, they will not access it directly from your websites or newsletters. The free redirect scripts are available usually with free java scripts.

TIP #2
You can also use a zero-frame that will hide the affiliate link and give the impression that you redirect people to one of the pages of your website. This method is used by the redirect services as "sub-domains" and you will be given an URL such as . com .

TIP #3
The most effective way to protect you affiliate links is to use affiliate link cloaker software. Visitors will be redirected to something that looks like your web page but pulls in the affiliate link such as the sub-folder services. (Here is the url example of how it would look: . com/recommends/productA).

Therefore, never send a "naked" link through the affiliate programs. There are always hijackers waiting for this, and they might take your commission without you eve being aware of it.
